Father’s Day 2016

Firstly, I just want to keep you updated on my life right now.

I apologize for not updating this blog as regularly and being slow on replying to comments on here and my social media accounts. One of my sons is going through a serious sleep regression right now and he has been waking up shortly after the initial bed time and staying up until 2 or 3 in the morning. Yes, he has been having only 6-7 hours of sleep each night for the last few days. So I have been up cuddling him and attempting many times to put him back to sleep ALL NIGHT. The day following that kind of night is not easy, as he and I are exhausted. So, I have not had time to be on the phone or computer. As I type this blog post, it is 4 in the morning after M went to sleep. I know I should go to bed but I haven’t had my own time for a while and I NEEDED some time to myself so I am using this early morning time alone. haha. I know the parents who are/have been through a clingy/sleep regression stage would understand me! Once the routine is back to normal, I will catch up on everyone’s blog posts as well.

Hope everyone had a great day celebrating Father’s Day yesterday.

I emailed some pictures of me and my boys to my dad wishing him Happy Father’s Day a few days ago. It’s too bad I cannot celebrate it with him. He is almost 62 years old but still working very hard. His dedication and hard work always inspire me. He is a true “good father” figure to us. Working so hard, always caring and supporting his children, and keeping humor. My parents have always been so busy and dedicated to work that they haven’t really got to enjoy their lives like going on a cruise or a vacation to a resort. My dream is to treat them to a nice trip with their grand children one day!

Father’s Day has become more important in my life now that my husband is a daddy! He is seriously such a great dad. He has been very involved in parenting. Not just in helping me out with lots of the tasks for taking care of the boys and housework but also anytime he is off work or has spare time, he wants to spend it with us as a family. I am such a family person too, so I am so glad he enjoys always being with us and taking us on cool adventures always! Our boys know that and they love their daddy.

Last year, I secretly did foot prints of the boys for a gift. This year, I browsed for ideas on Pinterest and I decided to do some painting with the boys. They had never painted before just because they still put things in their mouth and also I was too nervous to accept that much mess!

So I got my friend to help with the project. It was as messy as I expected. Maybe messier than I thought, actually. But it was totally worth it. The boys had blast. I think they enjoyed it more than drawing with crayons. We used tempera paint because it is non-toxic, so I was able to just let them have fun with the paint painting their own legs!

Before they painted the whole canvas, I had stuck some letters on it. So when the paint was dry, I peeled off the letters and “[heart] YOU DAD” appeared. I think it turned out great.

Other than giving him this gift, he had to work (as always on any special days…). And after he got off work in the evening we visited my husband’s parents’ house for BBQ dinner. My husband’s step dad is a very nice person. He has been a wonderful father for my husband and he is a great grand father as well.

Because we couldn’t really celebrate it yesterday and since my husband is off today, we are off to celebrate a belated Father’s Day as a family!

Hope everyone has a great week.

Thank you for reading!

I hope your son falls back into a normal sleeping schedule again soon! Sleep regression is definitely tough as a mother. I think not sleeping is easier when kids are newborns because you expect to not sleep. It’s harder when kids are older because you’re used to sleeping and you never know when to expect a regression to happen!

Also, I love you little Father’s Day craft. I think it’s so cute! Get some rest if you can!

Thank you! You are so right. Sleep regression and teething are so spontaneous and unpredictable!! I know the priority in my life is to take care of my boys but it’s very hard to deal with when I am tired… Oh well fingers crossed that it will end soon.
I hope your daughter is okay now… such a scary experience you went through. You must be exhausted from taking care of her all night too. Take care… and hope to chat to you soon (I finally started to work on our project 😉 )
